Help
Before you select an orthotic, find out:
- The age of the patient: The developing foot of a child needs special consideration when treated with an orthotic. It is important to allow for natural growth and flexibility. In the same way the ageing foot may require more gentle support.
- Activity and weight of the patient: Talar Made Orthotics uses state of the art materials which can be graded to allow for the higher impacts of heavier patients and sporting activities. The densities of our materials are colour coded and are consistent across the range:
Grey: Soft
Blue: Medium
Black: Firm
- Shoe style: It is important that you consider the shoes your patient is wearing. They must be of a good fit and allow enough room to wear the orthotic comfortably. The shoe should provide a table heel position, an adjustable fastening and a flexible forefoot accommodation. The shoes must not show signs of excessive wear.
- Shoe size: The Talar Made range of foot orthotics is designed to be easy to fit. Each model is made for a range of shoe sizes so simply select the correct option for your patient. Trim to fit lines are marked on the underside of the full-length models to ensure an exact fit. Full and half-length versions are available where appropriate.
